چکیده

A new aporphine alkaloid, 7-epi-duguetine (1) together with one known alkaloid, dicentrinone (2), and four known flavonoids, quercetin 3,7-dimethyl ether 3′-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(12)-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), galangin 5-methyl ether (4), 5,7-dimethoxy-3-hydroxyflavone (5), and 3,5,7-trimethoxyflavone (6), were isolated from the leaves of Dasymaschalon acuminatum, a new plant species which has not been investigated phytochemically before. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated through extensive NMR spectroscopic analysis. All isolates were evaluated for antiplasmodial activity against Plasmodium falciparum strain K1 and 7-epi-duguetine was found to exhibit potent activity with an IC50 of 0.385 g/ml.

Cytotoxic and Antimalarial Alkaloids from the Twigs of Dasymaschalon obtusipetalum.

One new p-quinonoid aporphine alkaloid, obtusipetadione (1), and eleven known compounds (2-12) were isolated from the acetone extract of the twigs of Dasymaschalon obtusipetalum. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The cytotoxic and antimalarial activities of the isolated compounds were evaluated. Compound 1 showed significant in vitro antiplasmodial activity against the ...

The crude extract of the bark of Dehaasia longipedicellata exhibited antiplasmodial activity against the growth of Plasmodium falciparum K1 isolate (resistant strain). Phytochemical studies of the extract led to the isolation of six alkaloids: two morphinandienones, (+)-sebiferine (1) and (−)-milonine (2); two aporphines, (−)-boldine (3) and (−)-norboldine (4); one benzlyisoquinoline, (−)-retic...

The bis(indolyl)imidazole alkaloid nortopsentin a exhibits antiplasmodial activity.

A library of enriched marine natural product fractions was screened for their antiplasmodial activity using a SYBR green I fluorescence-based assay. Fractions derived from a sponge of the genus Spongosorites exhibited potent inhibition of Plasmodium falciparum growth. This genus of sponge has been reported to contain the nortopsentin and topsentin class of bis-indole imidazole alkaloids. This i...
